Award-winning Author, Gail Chehab, was born and raised in a small town nestled in the Hudson Valley, just north of New York City. With the birth of her first child, Gail realized that she couldn’t work seven days a week and travel the world. Moving cross country to California, she would take her first creative writing course. During the ten-week course, Gail began writing her first novel, The Echo of Sand, which would go on to win the First Series Award for the Novel at Mid-List Press. The Tunnel has now recently been nominated as a Finalist in the 2016 Oregon Book Awards.
THE TUNNEL - A story of war, hope, love and sacrifice set in the Middle East, is Gail's latest novel that has been nominated as a FInalist in the 2016 Oregon Book Awards. Previously, THE TUNNEL has been honoured with a slew of awards, including being awarded Second Place in the Roanoke Review‘s Annual Fiction Contest, a Finalist for the Arthur Edelstein Prize, a Semi-Finalist for the William Faulkner-William Wisdom Competition, the Salem College’s International Literary Awards, and the Ruth Hindman Foundation. Gail has also been awarded a fellowship for her writing in the Summer Literary Seminars hosted in Lithuania and Kenya.
